Reading Steph’s post about color analysis took me back 25 years when a friend gifted me a color analysis session. It changed my life. Well, in the very least it changed my color palette! I used to wear a lot of black (slimming, you know 🤦🏼♀️) and gold jewelry. The analysis revealed that I am ‘Summer’ which basically meant out with bold black, white, red and gold, and in with classy grays, jeans blues, mossy greens and fuscia pinks. And silver jewelry which I absolutely love. It was funny because I started getting lots of compliments on my clothes and jewelry!
Gold is still out, both wearing it and in my home decorations. When we moved into this house there was gold everywhere, door handles, faucets, shower door. We still have to do the door handles but everything else has been replaced with brushed nickel, so much nicer.
Alas, there are always exceptions to the rules, right? In my case it’s Christmas. That’s when I love gold! And glitter! It just makes me happy 🌟 When I saw these gold candle holders it was love at first sight. And the vintage gold bottle brush trees are my favorites.
We all need a bit of gold sparkle in our lives, don’t we? 😊
Gold
Funny thing. I also did the Color Analysis back then and it turned out I am a Summer 😊. But to be honest I'm pretty sure I've changed into a version of Autumn as I've grown older. Could not stick to the rules ir turned out 😁
Ah, the tyranny of colour analysis! Gold is the perfect Christmas shade, so it’s everywhere in my house too.
I’m a Soft Autumn, no black allowed, but look washed-out in my beige-y neutrals. I tried Carol Tuttle’s ‘Dress Your Truth’, where I’m a Type 4 - with lots of black recommended! Go figure. 🤣
