I think a nice mug is an essential item for our mental health!
There is something very comforting about holding a warming container that is just the right size for our liking, and filled with soothing nourishment, such as herbal tea with honey or good hot coffee. I often start and finish my days with the mug in the photo, I love the happy floral pattern and how it feels in my hands.
There is also nothing better than offering a beautiful steaming mug of goodness to a friend in need, it’s like a gentle hug for them while they feel seen and heard.
Or my other favorite, meeting a friend at a coffeeshop and putting the world to rights over a few cozy mugs of creamy latte.
Using nice mugs and crochery helps with my weight loss journey, too, as it makes me pay more attention to the visual aspect of food preparation. I do love a plate of food that is colorful and aesthetically pleasing! It’s almost like a nice mug or plate honors the nutritious food from our earth. Or maybe that’s just me ;-)
I probably have way too many mugs. When we moved into the house I decluttered a lot and yet I still ended up with a whole cupboard full of mugs and cups. Some were precious gifts from friends, other I just like because they are beautiful.
Nice mugs make me happy. It’s as simple as that.
